RP 19 - On the Table

As Set tucks into the rest of the cake, Lara turns to the other person at the table. "So Eldor, what brought you to the Legacy. I understand you are working for Navik, but how did you get into this line of work."

  1. "This line of work? Are you asking what I am doing here, or what I did to get here?" Elbor asks.

  2. "A little of both. This ship seems to attract people with interesting histories, so Xol tells it."

  3. "Well, my job on this ship is simple. I am what Navik calls a 'Pitboss', I am to watch for people who are cheating and the like and bring them to the attention of Xol. Or if the act requires more immediate action to deal with them myself." At this point Lara gets a call on her comm from Navik, "Lara, i have another job offer." Elbor looks at Laras comm, "I am to follow someone he hires to walk around and have the look of a 'Highroller' as he puts it."

Elbor stands and turns to face Lara, "If you would be so kind as to answer his call, I will walk with you and explain what i did to get here." He turns and gestures toward the door. Elbor turns to Xol and Set, "You are more than welcome to accompany us."

  4. "We should probably go with and work off this feast huh Set?" Xol gets up.

"If it will keep me from turning into a hutt..." Set stands up and then sits back down. "I think I'm too full though," he looks up at Xol sadly. "Piggy back?" He asks switching rather quickly from really sad to really excited.

Xol sits back down so Set can get his wish. "I know I did not teach you that hand-wave-make-you-do-what-I-want trick...but I feel like you may have just figured it out on your own."

    "There's a trick like that?! Neat! Giddy-up!"

Xol makes a sort of displeased sound in his throat.

    "I mean...ow...oh...my tummy..."

  5. Lara turns from the tiny holo of Navik on her wrist. "Really? I think its okay, Elbor. Navik can feel free to offer me this job here. Unless he doesn't trust you, Xol, and Set. "I don't think the conversation will take that long anyway, no point in getting up."

Turning back to Navik, she inclines her head at the image. "So what have you been thinking, Navik? I'll warn you, I'm a horrible sabacc dealer."

  6. Navik tilts his head for a second then starts laughing, "NO no no, I want you for something much simpler. I want to pay you to be a 'guest' here, and its not a matter of trust. I simply prefer to do things face to face. The only stipulation will be that Elbor must follow you every where when you leave your room, and you must spend 5 hours on the floor, at least 2 consecutive. Do you accept?" Navik then bows and holds till she answers.

  7. "So...no ride?" Set asks sadly.

Xol looks around the room and sighs. It's pretty big. Big enough for a little run. "I...guess I could use the exercise," Xol says and he starts of with a slow jog around the room.

Set says a few things in kel-dor that one can only assume are extremely adorable things from the tone of his voice.

  8. Lara kinda screws up her mouth. That's exactly where I thought this was headed, soon as Elbor said it. I can just picture it now. Me dolled up in some silly, impractical gown with a vapid expression on my face acting like fluff. Elbor walking around behind me at all times, like I'm on a leash.

"Sorry, Navik. I'm still bound to Sera on this. When we have to go, we're gone. Since there's no word on that yet... I'll cut YOU a deal. I will do it for your opening weekend only if I have full control over what I have to wear, my schedule is mine to pick, and you give Xol a 50% raise effective immediately.

"After all, I can pull in something you'd never expect. And make this place a bit more attractive to the Imperial uppity up's. Are my terms agreeable?"

  9. Navik stands, "You are really twisting my arm here, how about every other weekend until you have to leave? With the matter of Xol's pay, that is pretty steep. With what he is going to get payed he dose not need a raise, trust me. As for your hours, I need Elbor on the floor as much as possible. The problem is he has informed me he dose his best work in hiding, not like Null or myself, but in plain sight. He just need a front-man if you will, and that will be you."

  10. "And you can find some other face then afterward. But if the crooks are smart, Elbor will get pegged as your inside man not someone's guard. Remember, rich people don't live in floating casinos for months at a time nor do bodyguards change clients every week.

"My counter is 35% to Xol, nothing else changes. You WILL get more than you asked on my deal. But I cannot tie myself down here. After all an heiress doesn't turn 18 and want to blow that bottomless trust fund every day..."
